So, you’ve been buying up all of the pretty macramé Christmas ornaments at your local market? Or you’ve been busy making macramé Christmas decorations and now you have too many to know what to do with…
Well never fear, there are so many ways to use macramé Christmas decorations! And this article will provide a collection of ideas on how macramé Christmas ornaments can be used to spread cheer this Christmas.
1. Hang them on the Christmas tree
I’ve put this point first as this is the obvious one! Macramé Christmas decorations can be hung on the Christmas tree (of course!).
Give a boho-twist to your Christmas theme by using all macramé ornaments on the Christmas tree…OR simply add a few alongside your existing Christmas ornaments.
2. Make a Christmas garland
This idea takes less than 5 minutes to put together (if you already have the macramé Christmas decorations) and gives an instant Christmas lift to a dull wall. All you’ll need is a piece of tinsel and some macramé Christmas ornaments. I used nine ornaments for my garland, but you can use more or less depending on the length of your tinsel and the desired look.
Simply thread the macramé Christmas decorations onto the tinsel using the loop intended to hang on the tree. Attach the garland to a wall, making sure the ornaments are evenly spread along the tinsel. I used the Command adhesive hooks as I think they’re brilliant! They’re so easy to attach and can be removed without damaging the walls. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the packet, otherwise you could run into trouble.
3. Send with Christmas cards
Add a keepsake to your Christmas cards by enclosing a macramé Christmas ornament. Stand out from the crowd and include a special gift the recipient can use every Christmas.
The stipulation to this is that if you’re posting the Christmas card, the ornament you include must be thin enough to fit within the large letter guidelines, or else you’ll fall into the higher-cost parcel post category. According to AusPost, the maximum dimensions for a large letter are 260 x 360 x 20mm. Therefore, no large wooden beads or bulky pieces, but simple Christmas trees, stars, and mini-wreaths fit in perfectly.
4. Add some festive flair to your table
There are numerous ways macramé Christmas decorations can be used to spice up your Christmas table setting:
Attach macramé Christmas ornaments to wooden rings and create macramé Christmas napkin holders.
Scatter the macramé Christmas decorations around on a festive table runner to give a unique boho Christmas feel.
Hang macramé Christmas ornaments around the outside of empty glass jars and place an LED tealight inside to create easy macramé Christmas lanterns.
5. Decorate the house plants
Finally, brighten up house plants that are permanent fixtures in your house by hanging some macramé Christmas ornaments from the leaves or branches.
Conclusion
I just love Christmas, and decorating the house with beautiful, handmade macramé ornaments is rewarding in so many ways.
