I hope my honest review of the Blog by Number Course by Start a Mom Blog helps you along your journey. Why should you listen to me?

Now I’ll admit if you’re looking for a review from a seasoned blogger with 10s of thousands of page views per month…then this isn’t the review for you. If you’re looking for an honest review from a mum of two who’s just starting out in the blogging world then please read on.

I purchased Blog by Number back in 2018. I’d been following Start a Mom Blog for a while and I’d already snapped up the The Blog Plan freebie that was on offer.

Once I was enrolled in the Blog by Number course I was super-keen to start. I eagerly watched the videos…came up with an idea of what I wanted to blog about, and paid for my website. I even wrote a couple of blog posts. But…did I mention I had just had a baby at the time? Well not just, my daughter was a year old. There are lots of mums who manage to take early parenthood in their stride AND start a profitable blog at the same time…I wasn’t one of them.

Luckily, once you purchase the Blog by Number course you have access for life. So a few years down the track, now with two children in tow (both over 2-years-old so I have more hands-free time!), I got my act together and began again.

Results so far…

At the time of writing this, I’ve only been blogging for about 10 months. I’ve been accepted into a government program offered in Australia to help start my business, and I get a fortnightly payment for that. I’ve had many compliments about my website and questions about how I learned to build it. I’ve made money from affiliate links and my own products. I’m growing my following and I feel like I know which direction to head. Could I be further along? Definitely. But only you know how much is on your plate – and as mothers we need to be kind to ourselves and celebrate the small steps we have taken.

To be honest I haven’t ever tried to find any competitors for starting a profitable blog because since purchasing Suzi’s course I’ve felt confident that I had all the information I needed. Any areas that I felt like I needed more learning were more niche things like understanding how specific platforms worked (such as Instagram or Etsy). A quick search on YouTube or signing up for a free EtsyU Workshop usually got me sorted with these queries.

Another course I have found useful is one of Suzi’s other courses called Printables by Number. This course dives further into how to start making an income with small digital products. I’ve only recently enrolled in this course, but it feels like the right next step after setting up my blog. Plus, if you’re already a student of Suzi’s, she gives you a great discount off any of her other courses that you purchase! Winning!
